NEWS WORTH SAVING FROM 2024: All praise to Dan Gopstein, who has fixed OUR GOOD NAME!! We have now reclaimed our real name: Production Committee! No more annoying "S". Please praise our friend Dan Gopstein, the IT genius who figured out a way. As Greg Greenway would say, "he made a way out of no-way."
SOME HISTORY WORTH SAVING FROM July 8, 2024: Steaming hot today. I got a wonderful message last night from Mary Lou Troy, one of our Production predecessors and heroes. Here is some history that corrects my retelling.
"Teresa and Stretch did the Festival Programming in 1977 and 1978. For the next few years Teresa was credited with programming in the program book. Somewhere, probably in the late 70s, Fred started working with her and by 1986 was listed in the program book as co-chair of Programming. It became the Programming Committee probably in the early 80s. It did not become Programming/Production until 1997 when the Stage Management Committee, Video Committee and Sound got folded into Program/Production. When Fred "retired" from Programming, the committee became Production."
I've always considered Teresa to be my mentor, but never realized what an important role she has played in the PFF history.
Word of wisdom for Stage Managers and Assistants: No matter when a workshop starts, IT ENDS ON TIME.

Radio Primer
When you press the button to speak, wait a couple of seconds for the repeater to detect the signal before speaking. Hold the button down while you talk. Speak slowly and briefly. After speaking, let the button out and wait for a response. It may take a short while for others to be able to respond to you. After waiting for a response, you can try again, making sure you are holding the button down firmly while you speak. Two people cannot speak at once. Say the name of the person you are trying to contact and identify yourself as well.
Essentials for Stagehands
Well-fitting gloves with good grip.
You’ll be handling heavy sound equipment. Protect your hands and ensure a good grip.
Sturdy shoes or boots, preferably with steel toes, with good grip.
You’ll be going up and down ramps and especially if it is rainy you need footwear with soles that grip well.
Camping
We are guests on a working farm.
Please be considerate of this land. When you pack up and leave, don’t leave behind any trash or litter. There will be trash pick-up during fest and after fest. Bring trash bags or go to Camping Headquarters and get a few. Leave nothing but footprints!
Do not bring any glass bottles into the campground!
Cans or plastic are okay. Do not bring large items into the campground unless you can guarantee taking them back out with you.
